The artist behind these not so ordinary sculpture is Ron Ulicny. He makes a living on creating these reconfigured art pieces. He knows how to bring beauty back to life after the materials have been abandon.

This would be a cool sculpture to have in your office. How did Ron Ulicny comes up with these amazing idea? This bonsai style plant in the middle of a bowling pin is impressive.

Wow, this sculpture is neat. I can’t believe he is using the wood blocks to show the movement of water. If i see this art piece of the street I would probably buy it.

Cool Metal Chain Art Sculptures

These metal chain sculptures of human are made from nothing other than bicycle and steal chains. The sculptures are created by Korean artist Yeong-Deok Seo. It takes some tough discipline to create some awesome art work like these.

Big Cool Burning Crayon Sculpture

This crayon stacking project is just amazing to me when I first saw it. How and why did Herb Williams chooses to use crayon for his art project? We dont know, but they are something that we dont see on a daily basis.

I like how the faded out the color to create the flame effect. Way too cool of a structure man.

This crayon project is called Unwanted Visitor: Portrait of Wildfire located at the National Ranching Heritage Center at Texas Tech University in Lubbock.

Herb Williams is working hard in the studio trying to bring something new to the world. Brilliant mind and brialliant ideas from a crayon stacker.

Here is something about Herb Williams that you should know. He actually has an account with Crayola. It takes some dedication to come up with something like this people. I wish I have this kind of dedication. Nicely done Herb, nicely done!

Cool Art Made With Tree Roots

This gotta be the most creative art I have seen around. The roots are metallic and they belong to South Korean artist Kim Sun Hyuk.

This is my favorite piece, it reminds me of the mirror mirror on the wall queen from the snow white movie.

These two pieces are quite intriguing, they actually take on the shape of the human body.

Maybe the roots in this sculpture is not created live tree, but the artist really did an excellent job at making them looking botanical.

Pencil Sculptures by Dalton J. Paul Getty

If you think that pencil is a tool for drawing, painting or writing notes – you’re wrong! 45-year-old carpenter, Dalton J. Paul Getty for 25 years turns ordinary pencils into incredible miniature sculptures. Without using a magnifying glass. “When I was a schoolboy, – says the master, – I made gifts to my friends, carving out their names on a pencils. Later, I decided to try sculpture, and after a long searching the choice fell on a pencil lead.” For such work Dalton uses blades, sewing needles and special knives for the sculptures. However, the material is too fragile and can not allow mistakes: at home Mr. Getty has more than 100 unfinished or broken sculptures. “At first I had a few broken figures, later I decided to keep them all in memory. I call this “cemetery collection”: they are all dear to me, yet I spent alone with them a few months.” Artist could spend a few months at one sculpture. For the creation miniature alphabet Dalton spent 2,5 years. “My patience is simply amazing people, because nowadays everyone wants to be quicker, faster and faster.”

Post-It Structure by Yo Shimada

Yo Shimada of Tato Architects joined forces with students of Kyoto University of Art and Design to create this installation: Post-it Structures.

Post-it Structures is in exhibition at the gallery Artzone in Kyoto, and features about 30 thousand post-its in bright colors, all sticked together to create wall-like structures through the gallery.

A man in a rowing boat floats near a ‘mermaid’ sculpture created by Oliver Voss on Alster lake in Hamburg in the late evening August 3, 2011. The four-metre-high sculpture dubbed “Riesen-Nixe” (grand mermaid) or “Badenixe” (bathing beauty) will be on display until August 12.

Giant Head Statue

Indonesian artist Eddi Prabandono and his 15 workers made a 4×4-metre statue modelled after the head of Prabandono’s daughter Luz, now 5 years old, as part of a series of art works called the “Luz Series”. The statue will be displayed at Jog Art, an annual art exhibition held in Yogyakarta that is attended by more than 150 artists.

Weird Wire Steel Sculptures

These wire sculptures by Tomohiro Inaba appear to be the 3D manifestation of an illustrator gone mad. Each sculpture appears to start off anatomically perfect, a delicate fawn nibbling in the grass or a sinister black skull resting on its chin, but each devolves into an impossibly complex tangle of steel wire that twists vertically into the sky like violent pencil scribbles. Definitely check out his website for an archive of work spanning back to 2003.

Geller’s objects offer meaning despite their solidity and materiality. A pessimistic yet playful – at times quite profound – energy flows through them: escalators connect one to nowhere; fiberglass tsunamis promise leisure sport and/or death by flood; ice cream cones sit frozen in mid-melt next to exquisite skulls that melt and drip like butterscotch candies in the sun.

Human Formed Hive

During Design Miami/Basel 2010 last month, Dutch designer Tomáš Gabzdil Libertiny built a glass vitrine and suspended this martyred figure in the middle. 40,000 worker bees were then released over the course of the event so that a wax honeycomb structure was created over the figure. The red pigment color comes from the fact that Libertiny tinted the entire honeycomb structure red. Representing flesh and blood, the work comes to signify “the toil of everyday duty…masked by the hope of eternal rest in an after-life promised by the believer.(via DesignBoom)

Federico Uribe, born in Columbia, lives and works in Miami, FL. His work has been exhibited in solo and group shows in galleries and museums in North America, South America and Europe.
