Creative Faucet Stand for iPhone and iPad

Due to the popularity of Apple products there a huge range of various accessories for iPhone and iPad. Today we want to show you creative stand created by Japanese studio Nendo. This original stand “Jaguchi” for iPhone and iPad was made in the form of a crane with flowing water. Stand is made from polycarbonate and available in four colors: white, black, blue and colorless.

Floating Country invested by Paypal founder Peter Thiel

For those who remain pessimistic about this latest project Thiel says, “We don’t need to really worry about those people very much, because since they don’t think it’s possible they won’t take us very seriously. And they will not actually try to stop us until it’s too late.”

A well known Libertarian, Thiel suggests these islands may be instrumental in “experimenting with new ideas for government.” One theory implements libertarian ideals such as no welfare, no minimum wage, looser building codes, and fewer weapons restrictions. Another more capitalistic approach called Appletopia, has a corporation starting the country as a business where the more popular it becomes the more valuable the real estate.

These micro-countries built on oil rig-like platforms will be moveable, diesel-powered 12,000 ton structures. Each structure may house up to 270 residents, and they are planned to link together into a massive web. Thiel plans to launch a flotilla office park off the coast of San Francisco next year and predicts full settlement of the first island in 2019. He and the Seasteading Institute aim to have 10 million floating residents by 2050.

Thiel’s ventures have always pushed boundaries. From wanting to use a currency unaffiliated with any nation for Paypal to funding DNA sequencing and commercial space travel, the uncharted and therefore, unregulated realms are his greatest interests. For those who remain pessimistic about this latest project Thiel says, “We don’t need to really worry about those people very much, because since they don’t think it’s possible they won’t take us very seriously. Google Map Envelopes

This idea may bring some laughter to the postal employees. Designers Rahul Mahtani & Yofred Moik from the Industrial Design program at Syracuse University came up with this concept called Google Envelopes. Wouldn’t it be great to be able to map the course of mail and how it can tell a story of distance traveled? They came up with Google Envelopes, which can be sent through G-Mail itself. It’s only a concept, but totally viable and something people can immediately understand.

Deform-able Packages

It seems a box is always too big or small so designer Patrick Sung came up with flat sheets of recyclable corrugated cardboard called the Universal Packaging System or UPACKS. The patterns make it easy to fold and conform to almost any shape while maintaining structural rigidity and protecting the contents. Love the idea of saving on packaging but will this actually work? I suspect each sheet would have to be sufficiently padded; not too thick, not too thin, but just right said Goldilocks.

Rubberband Chair

Industrial design student Preston Moeller has created the ‘rubberband chair’. the seating object is constructed from a wire frame which has been bound in 65, 000 colorful rubber bands offering a seat that gives a bit of a bounce and flexibility when sat upon.

Highest Building of the World

Chicago based practice Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill has recently unveiled plans to construct the ‘kingdom tower’ in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. projected to become the world’s next tallest building, it will be the primary component within the kingdom city development intended to revive the city’s urban core. the slender form is conceptually derived from the fronds of a native flower emerging from the arid desert sand. the mixed use program will accommodate a four seasons hotel, apartments, office space, luxury condominiums and the world’s highest observatory overlooking the adjacent red sea.

‘with its slender, subtly asymmetrical massing, the tower evokes a bundle of leaves shooting up from the ground – a burst of new life that heralds more growth all around it.’

Barcelona-born contemporary artist and sculptor Jaume Plensa is currently showing his first
major UK exhibition at the yorkshire sculpture park in wakefield, england. exhibited in
the underground gallery as well as the surrounding outdoor landscape, the collection of

3D Grass Globe

“Qui Croire”(Who to believe?) is a work of land art by Francois Abelanet, which appears like a sphere when viewed at a proper angle. It is really a 1,500 square meter sprawling installation.

The installation can be experienced in front of the steps of paris’s city hall through july 15th, in the center of a garden
dedicated to urban trees.

CD Installation – Waste Landscaper

Created by french artist Alise Morin and architect clémence eliard, ‘wastelandscape’ overtakes the ‘halle d’aubervilliers’
of paris’s centquatre with an undulating landscape composed of 65,000 old CDs, sorted and hand-sewn together
into a 500-square meter surface. the piece is on exhibition at the centquatre now through september 10th.

made of petroleum, this reflecting slick of CDs forms a still sea of metallic dunes;
the artwork’s monumental scale reveals the precious aspect of a small daily object.

Eating the Drinking Cups

Josh Harris at The Fun Times Guide to Living Green shares the awesomeness that is Jelloware by researchers from ”The Way We See The World”…and yes, it is a real product.

“The cups are made entirely out of a substance called agar agar. Agar agar is a gelatin-like substance that originally comes from red algae. I know what you might be thinking “Eat a cup that is made of Algae? Heck No!”. So, for you haters out there, I encourage you to remember that those tasty portobello or button mushrooms that you might love so much are actually fungus.

If you don’t feel like eating the cup, you can actually just toss it in the grass. Yeah, you read that right. The cup has an extract of seaweed in it that actually has nutrients that support the growth of grass and plants.”

A product of the same collaboration that has already turned out a series of laptop computers and external hard drives, the Asus WX Lamborghini Wireless Mouse packs Sant’Agata’s famously edgy styling into a computer peripheral. It’s available in white, yellow or black, packs a little tire for a scroll wheel and, of course, Lamborghini’s often imitated (but never duplicated) logo perched prominently on top. It even sports a USB dongle that stows inside the mouse, has a range of 33 feet and is available for $80.

Wood Block Paintings

Inspired by pop artist, editorial photography and the endless world of computer design and animation, Mauricio Buitrago created a system based on; THE PIXEL. Hundreds of symmetrical wood blocks, hand-painted individually with acrylics, then neatly assembled in a elaborate woodworking process to create the factors of illusion and distance in each piece. When viewed up close, you see a modern display of colored blocks but as you question its form, your eyes and mind develop the need for distance between you and the piece, making a distinct image appear. Buitrago was born in Cali, Colombia in 1969.
