You probably have seen this comedian in recent big movies like Hang Over and Transformer 3.  Who would have think that a physician would change his career to become a comedian, but this career change was a huge success for Ken Jeong or Dr. Ken, who is an American comedian, actor, and physician.

Here is the story behind this funny but successful comedian.

-Jeong was raised in Greensboro and attended Walter Hines Page High School, participated in the High IQ team, played violin in the orchestra, and head of student council.

-He graduated at 16 and his achievements earned him Greensboro’s Youth of the Year award.

-He completed his undergraduate studies at Duke University in 1990 & got his medical degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1995.

This is where he got his first break at the entertainment industry. He won the Big Easy Laff-Off, of which NBC president Brandon Tartikoff and The Improv founder Budd Friedman were judges. They both urged Jeong to move to Los Angeles, and he began performing regularly at the Improv and Laugh Factory comedy clubs. Here is a break down of Hollywood career.

Brendan Walsh, Up Coming New Comedian

Brendan Walsh is the up coming stars, he is the former host of The Man Show. This dude likes the comedy industry and  the comedy industry is starting to notice Walsh. When he was On Last Comic Standing, he called his own penis “Sasquatch” and cracked up Tim Meadows.  He is a shinning stars and people are starting to notice him and his odd-ball comedy style.  This year Brendan Walsh was asked to perform on the New Faces Showcase at the prestigious Just For Laughs festival and won rave reviews. The comedy business is not hard to enter and it is even harder to dominate, but if you could make it big, it should be fun.

So you are thinking about becoming a comedian. Being a comedian isn’t easy, but if you could make it to the spotlight like Jerry Seinfeld and Chirs Rock then you are in the game.  Guess which comedian make the most money? Jerry Seinfeld is the man, he earned $85 million during the 12-month period. He is the man on and behind the scence, which he produced, wrote, and starred in, made up the bulk of his income. Other large sum of money comes from the Microsoft campaign and huge lucrative stand-up comedy gigs.

Chris Rock is not too far behind Seinfeld.  He made $42 million over the course of the year, he gained big bucks from (“Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa”, “Death at a Funeral,” and “Grown Ups”).  Other source of income come from a book deal with Grand Central Publishing.  This is not it people, he is going to star in  ”Everybody Hates Chris,” a T.V show which he narrates and about to get kick off.

Making people laugh is hard, but people always want to be entertained.  So the demand is always there, but you have to be really good at what you do to win the crowd.
