It’s the DOT: Direct On-demand Transport. It’s aimed foremost at London. It’s a small non-poluting vehicle that not only works on a giant organized system that reduces traffic and travel time to a minimum, it’s made to encourage car-pooling as well. Each unit can combine with another unit to create a larger unit. And boy are you gonna enjoy the way the vehicle works.

The vehicle’s wheels are magnetically levitated by motors on either side of the unit. Sequential acceleration and braking allow the vehicle to turn, while the back wheel is in place for stability.

The vehicle runs on Li-On batteries, recharged by solar panels on the roof of the vehicle. The batteries can also be charged at any number of special zones in the city through induction charging.

It’s all the good parts of a personal vehicle with the cost and environmental goodness of public transport. Being able to travel to several locations in the city in a short amount of time is imperative to the modern professional (or anyone who’s not a cube-liver.) Ending humankind’s war on nature, that’s imperative too. These roller cars would be just lovely!

Have you heard of Anchalee Saengtai?  Well, she is the awesome artist behind these real metal stars. Using spare car parts, she molded them into these buff robots.  Amazing, amazing and amazing.   What a big fan of transformer don’t you think?

This cool guy could not look any more realistic.

“These car-part Transformers are the most amazing thing we’ve ever found,” Ripley Entertainment exec Edward Meyer said in a statement. “Anchalee and her team can build them to specification from recycled junk cars using only the simplest of tools.” The Transformers sculptures will be held at the Ripley Odditoriums in New York City, London, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and Jeju Island, South Korea. Two of the Autobots are slated to arrive at the one in Hollywood later in the year.

Talking about bring a robot to live, this artist really has outdone herself.  Creating metal art with human hands, amazing!

Ok, have you ever heard of a thing call car crash art? I certainly haven’t.  But  Dirk Skreber is into this kind of smashing car thing.  This German artist purchased car such as the Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder and black Hyundai Tiburon and smash them them. He found a vehicle-testing facility in Ohio and choreographed both accidents, before exhibiting them at the Saatchi Gallery in London.

This is what he has to say about his line of art.
“It was fun to do, awesome and super-intense,” says Skreber. “If you pass an accident and see a car like this, it’s occupied by tragic thoughts for the people that would be involved, and you might see blood. This work gives you an opportunity to see the things like in a dream. It’s clean and polished and abstract.”

This is how you totally smash a car and turn it into something out of the box.

When it comes to art, it is certainly true that each artist has his unique way of capturing the audience.

This story is about Michael Arndt, the man of matchsticks. Over the course of six years, using 956,000 matchsticks, 1686 tubes of glue, and at least three different varieties of mustache, he built a full-scale replica of a McLaren 4/14 F1 car, at a cost of around 6000 Euros ($8,725). The giant model takes up Arndt’s entire kitchen and probably his social life. It can be broken down into 45 parts for easy transport to various matchstick-builders conventions.

This puppy is covered with 24k gold. Not many could do this to their cars.  I have seen cell phone that are gold plated, but this ride is truly a sign of wealth.

Cars Thieves Love Most Honda and Toyota

Approximately 1 million vehicles are stolen nationwide every year, but the 1994 Honda Accord is the most stolen car, according to an Aug. 24 report by the National Insurance Crime Bureau. Last year, more than 55,000 Accords were stolen in the U.S. Needless to say, the thieves aren’t after style, just substance.

Older vehicles like the 15-year-old Accord are pinched so often because their lack of theft-deterrent technology makes them easy to access and their parts–headlights, tires, catalytic converters and anything containing copper–are valuable on the black market. It also comes down to pure numbers, says Frank Scafidi, a spokesman for the National Insurance Crime Bureau: “Hondas and Toyotas, they sell millions of these things, so there are more targets, obviously.”

Many cars have been made and many names have been given to them, but for some reason these beautiful names seem to capture the public hearts and forever remain in people minds.

No.1 – Mustang Ford

1964-Present
It have been named after the celebrated World War II fighter plane, the Mustang name has reminded thoughts of freedom and the open road for generations of drivers. Names like Boss, Cobra and Shelby have signified some even higher-performing; yet even on its own, Mustang is all that’s really mattered. Known as Copperhead in prototype form before adopting its production name, the reptilian references were just a nod to the look of the car’s front end. The Viper name quickly signified more though, as an untamed creature on the edge of control.

Some have shrugged this off as an imaginary name that just sounds cool and nothing more, but it’s a real term for a small warship. Not so far out of place, when you think about it. Over half a century later, it’s more or less impossible to think Corvette without thinking speed. That’s indeed a sign of one of the best car names.

The Bugatti name is magical to enthusiasts, so it takes a great model name — and one breaking from the “EB” designation — to stand well with the marque. However, one of the best car names is not necessarily as far removed from the automaker as you might think. The car’s name comes from Pierre Veyron, Bugatti wheelman and winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1939.

If anything, it was the Demon that got negative attention from conservative groups.
