Mycena lux-coeli mushrooms

This is a glow-in-the-dark mushroom of Wakayama region of Japan. You will usually see this plant during rainy days. It springs up from fallen chinquapin trees and develops a chemical reaction involving a light-emitting pigment that takes place as it grows giving its ghostly green glow.
Crystal jelly (Aequorea Victoria)
A bioluminescent hydrozoan jellyfish also called the crystal jelly (Aequorea victoria) that is usually found at the west coast of North America. This creature flashes a blue light through a quick release of calcium that interacts with the photoprotein aequorin.
Alarm jellyfish (Atolla wyvillei)

A deep sea-dwelling jellyfish has this capability to “scream” for help. When it is attacked it glows to attract a bigger creature that will caught the whatever is about to eat it. It is its escape plan.
