How Web 2.0 can Help you with markeitng
Web 2.0 is basically the second wave of the internet. The first wave ended in the dot com bubble burst but Web 2.0 is the rise of social media like blogs, squidoo lenses, twitter, etc. In the first wave of the internet, only companies had the power to market and communicate on the internet.
Things are different in Web 2.0 because everyone has a voice. Anyone can create a blog and put their ideas out for the world to see. This creates a scenario where you can advertise for free or very little monthly cost if you use a little more high tech blog. Here’s one example how it could improve your product sales. Let’s say you open up an account on Twitter to brand yourself and you start to interact with others and get a following. On your updates, you aren’t salesy or anything, but just invite your list to check out your blog where you’re taking a 90 day challenge with your nutritional product (of which one of the benefits is helping with allergies) and see how it helps your allergies because you are currently allergic to dust mites (just grabbing for straws on that one).
Harnessing The Power of a Blog
On your blog you talk about you are feeling as you take your product and the changes you feel. You could even do a video on Youtube after 30 days showing you taking it and how much better you feel now since you’ve been taking it. After the 90 days you’ve had significant success with overcoming allergies to dust mites, invite your list to take the same 90 day challenge with your product as well. Side note, on your blog during the 90 day challenge you could have a link to a sales page for your product that people can purchase as they follow you during the 3 months.
Use it wisely
This is something you could really do with any product using Web 2.0. You can use multiple mediums and have people follow you during your trial run. The possibilities are endless because people are addicted to a reality challenge. Take a look at the popularity of the reality shows and how it has taken over television.
Take a little time and decide if you want to promote the business or product aspect. Once you decide that do a little brainstorming on what people would be attracted to and start a Twitter following and invite people to watch you as you go through this process. It’s like reality network marketing, that’s the power of Web 2.0.
